About Us

Destination Art just celebrated our tenth anniversary!

Since opening our doors in 2005, we have provided a creative and nurturing environment for thousands of Bay Area children of all ages. Our approach has always been to uniquely tailor our services to meet the diverse needs of busy families, catering to each individual child and their parents. Our goal is to encourage and broaden children's awareness in the world of arts and give them the tools to celebrate their full creative potential.

We have hosted countless programs including toddler and pre-school daycare, arts and crafts camps, workshops, movie nights and birthday parties, just to name a few. We have also collaborated with local elementary schools and many children’s charitable organizations.

Drop-in Toddler Preschool Program

IMG_1002.jpg

Destination Art offers a drop-in preschool art and play program for children ages 2 through 5 years old. The sessions are art-based with a variety of creative projects incorporating drama, music, storytelling, and game playing. The children spend time outdoors, with trips to the park, beach, library and other local attractions. Please see the camp schedule below to see the daily activities offered.

All projects are age-appropriate with an emphasis on having fun and exploring the children's imaginations and abilities. Children are welcome to join us for up to four hours on a weekly basis. As the children approach school age they will lean towards projects that will prepare them for kindergarten.

Year-Round Day Camp

IMG_7259.jpg

For the past ten years, Destination Art has been one of the few places in the Bay Area to offer drop-in year-round camps for children. With the exception of a couple of holidays, we are open whenever private and public schools are closed throughout the year. We also welcome children whose families are visiting or traveling from out of town.

Our camps are tailored to give each child room to thrive and explore crafts at their own pace. Children are encouraged to experiment with their own ideas under the guidance of artists and teachers. There is no limit to what they create with an extensive supply of materials at their disposal. Most of our art projects are made with found, recycled and donated materials giving the children a better chance to experiment with their imaginations and create unique and extraordinary items.

Movie Night

IMG_0753.JPG

Otherwise known as "Date Night," this is an evening  when parents get the chance to get reacquainted with each other. Our affordable price also promises a good night without breaking the bank.

Drop off your child for an evening of arts, crafts, fun and games and a feature film projected onto the big screen . All children are welcome, so parents take advantage and enjoy a date night knowing your children are having fun.

We play family-friendly movies that are age appropriate for the youngest child attending. We also show a ‘big kid’ movie in a separate room.

We can also provide a movie night for groups of families wanting to get together or for school events like fundraisers etc.

Birthday Parties & Event Rentals

IMG_0807.JPG

The studio is a great space for a party, suitable for both children and adult parties. We can tailor the event to suit your needs and budget.

The children will each get the opportunity to work with clay, paper, paper mache, drawing, painting, beading etc., as well as all sorts of recycled and found organic items that can be incorporated into their work. Each child will get to take home at least one finished item depending on what you choose.

Our parties are a lot of fun and very unique. We strongly recommend you visit the studio beforehand to look at samples of activities we offer.

We also have a full kitchen and can host cooking parties.

Guests are welcome to bring any food and drink they want, including adult beverages.

Hosted rental

Our basic rate for a 2 hour party with an art activity is $410. A deposit of $100 is required to hold a spot in advance. The fee includes the use of the space and all materials and instruction of a craft for up to, but not limited to, 15 children.

Unhosted Rental

We also rent out the space unhosted for events. $100 for the first hour, $60 for each additional hour.
